Linux System Administrator Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Linux System Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team.Key Responsibilities:Server Administration:Manage Windows & Linux servers for optimal performance, security, and reliability.Configure and troubleshoot server hardware, software, and firmware.Performance Monitoring & Optimization:Monitor system performance using tools like Nagios or Prometheus.Identify bottlenecks and optimize system resources to ensure maximum efficiency.Resource Utilization Tracking:Track CPU, RAM, Disk, and Network resource utilization to prevent overuse.Implement policies to manage resource allocation and usage.File System Management & RAID Configuration:Design and implement efficient file system configurations for data storage and retrieval.Configure RAID arrays for redundancy and high availability.Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) VM Template Management & Deployment:Create and manage virtual machine templates for consistent deployment.Deploy and configure virtual machines for development, testing, and production environments.Active Directory Management:Administer user, group, computer, and domain object management in Active Directory.Configure and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs).Domain Controller Setup & Troubleshooting:Install, configure, and manage Domain Controllers for authenticating users and managing access control.Troubleshoot issues with Domain Controllers, including authentication and authorization problems.DNS, DHCP, IIS, SMTP, WINS, DFS Configuration:Configure DNS for name resolution, DHCP for IP address assignment, and SMTP for email services.Set up WINS for NetBIOS name resolution and DFS for shared file access.Cluster Services Management:Manage cluster services for load balancing, failover, and scalability.Configure and troubleshoot clusters, including nodes, volumes, and quorum settings.Patch Management:Plan, implement, and roll out patches for operating systems, applications, and third-party components.Test and deploy hotfixes to ensure stability and security.Backup & Recovery Management:Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for critical systems and data.Test and validate backups to ensure integrity and restoreability.Job Scheduling & Crontab Monitoring:Manage job scheduling using cron or other task automation tools.Monitor job execution and report on errors or issues.Environment Variables & Registry Management:Manage environment variables for system and application configuration.Configure and troubleshoot the Windows Registry for secure and reliable operation.Account Lifecycle Management:Manage user account lifecycle, including creation, modification, and deletion.Implement password vaulting and permissions management for secure access.Security & Vulnerability Management:Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.Implement security patches, updates, and hardening measures to prevent exploits.Server Build & Imaging (Physical & Virtual):Build and customize physical and virtual servers for specific requirements.Image servers for deployment and replication purposes.Network Configuration & Troubleshooting:Configure network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.IT Asset & Inventory Management:Manage and track IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.Perform inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
