Job Title: Enterprise z/OS Systems SpecialistDescription:We are seeking an experienced enterprise-level system software specialist to design, implement, and maintain IBM mainframe environments.Install, configure, and maintain z/OS and subsystems (JES2, RACF, CICS, DB2, IMS).Manage system updates, PTFs, APARs using SMP/E.Ensure system stability and compatibility across releases.Responsibilities:System Installation, Maintenance & UpgradesImplement system configuration, performance tuning, security, automation, and troubleshooting.Liaise with cross-functional teams to support business and IT objectives.Performance Tuning & Capacity PlanningMonitor and optimize CPU, memory, and I/O performance.Tune WLM, Sysplex, and critical components.Conduct capacity planning and recommend hardware upgrades.Security & ComplianceAdminister RACF and enforce security policies.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.Apply security patches and mitigate vulnerabilities.Storage & Backup ManagementManage DFSMS, VSAM, HSM, and storage tools.Oversee backups, DR, and high-availability solutions.Optimize disk and tape storage usage.Incident Management & TroubleshootingDiagnose and resolve system abends and bottlenecks.Analyze dumps, logs, and traces for root cause.Collaborate with vendors on complex issues.Automation & ScriptingDevelop automation using REXX, JCL, CLIST, Ansible.Improve monitoring, job scheduling, and efficiency.Automate repetitive tasks to streamline processes.Disaster Recovery & High AvailabilityImplement and test disaster recovery plans for business continuity.Maintain Parallel Sysplex and failover configurations.Documentation & Knowledge SharingMaintain technical documentation and best practices.Mentor junior team members and share knowledge.
