Role Overview: NAYAN is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a strong foundation in backend development, particularly in Ruby on Rails (RoR), to drive our technology strategy and execution. This role is ideal for a technical leader with expertise in backend systems who thrives in a high-growth, startup environment. As CTO, you will lead NAYAN’s engineering vision, manage the backend architecture, and align technology solutions with the company’s long-term objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Strategy & Vision: Define and drive NAYAN’s technology roadmap, focusing on backend development that aligns with business goals and product needs.
  • Backend Development & Architecture: Oversee backend architecture and ensure best practices in Ruby on Rails to build robust, secure, and scalable systems.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop the engineering team, with a strong focus on nurturing backend talent and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Innovation & Scalability: Champion the adoption of innovative backend solutions that enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Product Collaboration: Work closely with product and design teams to implement backend solutions that translate product vision into a seamless user experience.
  • Risk Management & Security: Oversee backend security and data protection, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Essential Background:

  • Backend Expertise: Extensive experience in backend development, with in-depth knowledge of Ruby on Rails (RoR) and familiarity with backend architecture and frameworks.
  • Technical Leadership: 8+ years in senior technical roles, with significant experience in backend system design, development, and maintenance.
  • Scalable System Design: Proven success in building and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend systems.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technical strategies with business priorities and make data-driven decisions that support growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong track record of collaborating with product management, UX, and other teams to deliver impactful backend solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
