About the Role:

 

We are looking for a skilled Database Programmer with a strong foundation in MySQL to join our production operations team. This role is pivotal in enhancing system efficiency by automating backend processes and transforming MySQL stored procedures into scalable services using Node.js and Kafka. You will play a key role in streamlining our systems to ensure high-quality, reliable service for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Optimization : Convert complex MySQL stored procedures into scalable services, significantly improving performance and efficiency.
  • Service Development : Develop and enhance backend services in Node.js, optimizing for maintainability and scalability.
  • Kafka Integration : Implement reliable data handling and inter-service communication through Apache Kafka integration for real-time operations.
  • Process Automation : Automate recurring backend workflows to increase system reliability and minimize manual intervention.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Partner with DBAs, DevOps engineers, and developers to ensure smooth integration across backend systems.
  • Performance Troubleshooting : Identify, analyze, and resolve performance bottlenecks in database and backend services, ensuring stability and scalability.
  • Documentation : Create comprehensive documentation for all processes and services to facilitate knowledge-sharing and support team operations.

  

Technical Skills:

  • MySQL Expertise : Proficient in MySQL with advanced skills in stored procedures, triggers, and optimization. Candidates with a background in Oracle or MSSQL who are open to learning MySQL are also encouraged to apply. 
  • Backend Development : Experience in Node.js for building and maintaining backend services.
  • Kafka Proficiency : Familiar with Apache Kafka for distributed, event-driven architectures.
  • Microservices & Containerization : Understanding of microservices architecture and container tools (e.g., Docker).
  • API Development : Competent in developing and managing RESTful services.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scripting experience with Python .
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms  (AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines  for automated deployment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree  in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

 

Soft Skills:

  • Analytical Problem-Solving : Ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues with analytical precision.
  • Automation Mindset : Proactive with automation tools to optimize production workflows.
  • Team Collaboration : Works effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Communication Skills : Clear and effective verbal and written communication for technical documentation and teamwork.

 

Experience Required : 5-10 years
