Senior Data Privacy SpecialistOverview:We are seeking an experienced and skilled data privacy professional to oversee our organization's data protection program.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indian and global data protection laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement campus-wide data protection strategies in accordance with Indian data protection laws and relevant international regulations.Conduct regular data protection audits across all campuses; identify risks, recommend, and track remediation measures.Coordinate with operational teams to ensure robust processes for the compliant handling of student, lead, faculty member, and employee personal data.Draft, review, and update data protection policies, procedures, and notices tailored for educational settings.Review and negotiate customer and vendor contracts; draft and negotiate data processing agreements.Conduct data impact assessments.Organize and deliver ongoing data protection awareness and training for employees and faculty members.Respond to data subject requests and complaints concerning data protection.Monitor regulatory updates and sector trends to ensure the prompt adoption of necessary operational changes.Support incident management, data breach response, and communication with regulatory authorities.Monitor developments in global regulations, legislature, and data protection best practices, and advise on the need and rationale for changes required within the organization.Qualifications:Minimum 4 years of experience in data protection or compliance, with exposure to audit and data operations. Experience in the education sector or campus operations is strongly preferred.Familiarity with Indian data protection laws and global regulatory frameworks.Law degree (LL.B.) from a recognized university.CIPP/CIPM certification (or equivalent) preferred.Required Skills:Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to work across multiple environments and stakeholders.Ability to multitask with rapidly changing priorities in a dynamic environment.Self-starter and able to work independently.Team player who can operate within an international environment with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.Analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
