Role OverviewThe incumbent will be responsible for leading the procurement function for Raw Materials and Packaging Materials, ensuring uninterrupted availability, cost efficiency, and quality alignment with business goals. The role requires strong vendor management, strategic sourcing, and robust negotiation capabilities to deliver value across the supply chain.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & SourcingLead end-to-end procurement for Raw Materials and Packaging Materials, ensuring timely availability as per production and business needs.Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supply reliability.Conduct market research, supplier mapping, and benchmarking for continuous improvement.Evaluate and onboard new suppliers while ensuring compliance with company standards.Vendor ManagementManage and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.Conduct periodic supplier performance evaluations covering quality, delivery, cost, and service.Resolve supplier issues and ensure adherence to contractual commitments.Negotiation & ContractingLead negotiations on pricing, commercial terms, delivery conditions, and long-term agreements.Drive cost savings through strategic negotiations, alternate sourcing, and value engineering.Draft, finalize, and manage procurement contracts in coordination with legal and finance teams.Operational ExcellenceCoordinate closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Finance, and Planning teams to meet operational targets.Ensure procurement processes comply with internal controls, SOPs, and audit requirements.Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and material planning to avoid shortages or excess stock.Implement best practices in procurement to enhance efficiency and transparency.Cost & Risk ManagementTrack commodity price trends and assess risks related to supply, pricing, and quality.Develop mitigation plans for supply chain disruptions and maintain alternative sourcing options.Deliver year-on-year cost optimization while maintaining quality benchmarks.Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong hands-on experience in procurement, sourcing, and supplier management.Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing competitive terms.Knowledge of raw materials and packaging procurement processes, preferably in FMCG.Analytical, detail-oriented, and adept at data-driven decision-making.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.High integrity, result-oriented approach, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Profile12–15 years of core procurement experience with direct exposure to RM & PM categories.MBA from a reputed institution.Fluency in English and Hindi (mandatory); knowledge of Tamil preferred.Background in FMCG, Personal Care, Home Care, or Manufacturing sectors is an added advantage.
