Sr. Analyst / Manager / Sr. Manager – Strategy & Research Team (CEO’s office)

This role is an integral part of the CEO’s Office within Magic Bus India Foundation. As we embark on a 5-year strategic cycle marked by ambitious targets for outreach, impact, and program expansion, Magic Bus envisions extending its portfolio across diverse program areas, donor segments, and beneficiary groups. Our comprehensive strategic plan places data at the forefront, driving necessary changes at local, national, and global levels across life skills, education, livelihoods, skilling and placements, evidence building, and thought leadership. The aim is nothing short of making Magic Bus the finest implementation NGO in the country.

In this dynamic role, you will orchestrate a symphony of external data sources, harmonizing them with our internal insights to craft strategic recommendations. Your analytical acumen will be key in unraveling opportunities, enriching ongoing programs, identifying uncharted horizons, and steering the organization-wide technology journey. As an agile learner, you will collect, analyze, and breathe life into data, transforming it into actionable insights that bolster our mission. With your strategic flair, you will contribute to shaping our strategies, crafting compelling concept notes, weaving insightful reports, and disseminating invaluable data across the organization's tapestry.

Reporting to the Chief - Strategy & Research, this role operates in close collaboration with the Chief – Strategy & Research, Director – Institutional Partnerships, and the esteemed CEO’s Office.


Location: Magic Bus Head Office, Navi Mumbai

Qualifications:

  • MBA/CA/MPP with a penchant for the Development Sector, or a burning passion to contribute to it.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the development sector, be it as a full-time champion, a volunteer virtuoso, or a fellowship fellow.
  • Masterful data interpreter, turning raw information into strategic insights.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and balancing priorities.
  • Proven effectiveness working in a team-based environment, but capable also of working independently

The level, designation and compensation for the role will be mapped to the educational background and experience of the candidate.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Support in developing / writing grant proposals that are critical to the organization’s scale-up strategy
  • Shape the organization’s strategic initiatives and manage critical large scale-up grants
  • Develop a comprehensive research plan and a long-term strategy that fuels our impactful journey.
  • Map existing internal and external research services, global data and in-country/regional sources relevant to life skills, education, livelihoods, skilling and placements, evidence building and thought leadership.
  • Produce insights and recommendations to improve the impact and effectiveness of our work.
  • Partner with the Leadership team and Management team to identify and bridge data gaps.
  • Design an effective measurement mechanism to monitor performance on critical KPIs.
  • Present analytical results and insights, including recommendations to support reaching goals set out by the 5-year strategy.
  • Assess market trends and competitors, identifying threats and opportunities, presenting findings, projections and recommended actions.
  • Lead analytical work, proofs of concept and research projects to meet the organization’s needs.
  • Formulate strategy, forge and mange strategic partnerships & business modelling.
  • Project Management experience who can performance and progress, support board communication, good with PPT skills.
  • Manage Existing Potential Critical Initiatives.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation.
