Position Title:- Regional Head North – Municipal Business
Qualification: – BE / B Tech - Civil / Mechanical + MBA - Marketing would be an added advantage
Yrs of Exp.: - 18-20 Years of experience in wastewater treatment and water management across government agencies
Job Summary:
The Regional Head for the water business will be responsible for generating new business and establishing the Water business for VEPL in the region through water, waste water & distribution projects and making it the largest company in the water sector. He/She will be responsible for the identification of the new business opportunities, tendering process as well as managing client relationship for VEPL in the municipal segment of North India Markets. This role will need the incumbent to develop close relationship with bi-lateral agencies, to identify leads and potential business opportunities.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Lead and own Business development and Marketing activities for Water and Waste Water Projects in the municipal segment for western India markets.
- Achieve the quarterly as well as well as annual target of order booking projects in Water sector under Water Supply & Distribution, Waste water & Effluent Treatment.
- Liaise with bilateral / multilateral agencies to identify leads and opportunities
Establish Business
- Formulate and execute strategies for Water & Waste Water business under guidance of the management team
- Networks inside and outside the company as part of maintaining complete familiarity with the market trends and business opportunities.
- Identify, conceptualize, plan and deploy business development activities in Water and Waste Water across potential customer segments and product lines .
Develop network of allies
- Regularly meet Clients/Consultants/PMC/Government Authorities and maintain sound business relations
- Attend Conclaves, Business Conferences, Seminars and other networking activities
- Liaison with Municipal customers and build healthy working relationships pre and post order to ensure repeat orders.
- Draft MoU, JV, and Strategic Alliance with competent Technology partners to maintain extra edge in successful qualification & winning of the project.
- Building network and partnerships to enhance bidding opportunities and expand business.
Establish VEPL
- Differentiate VEPLs offerings from competitors and position it against customers’ requirements
- Assist in the improvement of quality by collecting customer feedback and providing information to the relevant stakeholders
Establish processes to support Business Development in Assigned Territories
- Ensure extensive market and economic research and analysis
- Ensure timely intimation of newly released tenders.
- Prepare pre-bid queries and attend pre-bid meetings and site visit to clarify all queries
- Develop end-to-end bidding process, i.e., sourcing, preparing all the documents as per the tender conditions, attending pre-bid meetings, financials, submission, Tender opening and negotiations etc. in coordination with corporate BD team
- Timely prepare and submit Bids (Online & Offline) monitoring the entire tendering process
Ensure timely budgeting and contracting
- Complete contract negotiation, finalization, contract signing and initiation of pre-project execution activities
- Develop execution plan as per the finalized contract price
Capability Development
- Develop resources to provide bidding support
Key Stakeholders and Interdependencies:
- Regular interaction with Commercial, Design Engineering and other in house and external consultants for understanding the technical and commercial conditions of each tender
- Coordinating & liaising with the Corporate Business Development team in relation to lead conversion & strategic inputs
- Finance for meeting funding and tendering requirements
- External Agencies for building relationships, and identifying leads & opportunities
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform major duties/responsibilities, successfully:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Waste-Water Management and Water Businesses
- Deep understanding of Local Legal requirements of the assigned territories in which bid is to be made
- Expertise in tendering
- Experience in project management, financial and technical expertise
