About Alt Carbon: Alt Carbon is India’s leading Carbon Removal (CDR) company. We blend science, technology & tradition to undertake climate action to turn the clock on historic emissions in the atmosphere. Our science and technology takes place in Bangalore; our operations are undertaken in Darjeeling’s heritage tea estates. Alt Carbon was started by sibling tea planters Shrey and Sparsh Agarwal, in order to rescue their family’s tea estate from being at-risk of climate impact to becoming the frontier of climate action.

We are looking someone who is obsessed with great products, good designs, and creative aesthetics. If you spend time thinking about design & communication, community & culture and feel like your talents are not being adequately utilised where you currently are, this role is for you.
Problem Statements:
Carbon Removal is a complex idea. How do you communicate that effectively do varying set of stakeholders that we have to engage with from individuals to organisations?
Enhanced Weathering sounds boring and technical. How can design, community and content, be effectively leveraged to make it an accessible and enchanting idea?
Every college graduated, young person on the internet seems to care about the climate. There are innumerable ‘Climate’ companies and VCs in India and globally that now exist. What should Alt Carbon’s marketing strategy be to stand out from the crowd?
How do you walk the thin line between great storytelling and greenwashing?
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Development: Work on the ideation, early development & evolution of the brand identity for Alt Carbon and our upcoming projects/products, maintaining consistency across all design touchpoints while pushing the envelope on creativity and innovation.
Creating a Content Strategy: Create visually stunning & storytelling driven content for different mediums, including websites, tech products, marketing collateral, client decks, social media, and print– focused on different stakeholders we work with
Team Building: Work with the founders on building out a tribe of creative designers, & a communications & PR team who report to you in your team.
Deep Study & Fast Implementation: Stay current with AI trends, design tools, and upcoming technologies, proactively applying new approaches to improve marketing spends and efficiently tracking impact. The role involves having a distinct design perspective, combined with constantly updating yourself with new ideas from the world of carbon removal, while also moving fast in delivering on deadlines
Reading & Communications: The world of CDR is fast evolving. This requires vast reading, constantly writing out memos and planning for how to communicate our work to a number of different kinds of audiences. If you’re not fond of reading and are not adept at writing, this is probably not for you
