We’re Hiring: Senior backend developer | AltellectReports to: Engineering LeadJob location: Koramangala - BangaloreWork mode: 5 days WFOAbout the roleThe Senior Backend Engineer will be a core technical contributor across Altellect’s multi-venture ecosystem, working with product and engineering teams to build reliable, scalable, and modular backend systems. The role requires strong engineering fundamentals, the ability to work across multiple ventures simultaneously, and comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguity-heavy environment where rapid iteration and clean execution are essential. This person will support 0→1 builds, enhance and stabilise existing platforms, and contribute to internal engineering frameworks that accelerate venture delivery.JD & Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Architecture & DevelopmentBuild and maintain backend systems, microservices, and APIs powering multiple ventures.Design modular architectures that can be replicated, forked, or scaled across ventures.Develop high-quality, secure, and maintainable code aligned with engineering standards.Drive performance optimisation, refactoring, and scalability across systems.Delivery & ExecutionConvert broad venture requirements into technical solutions and backend implementation plans.Manage multiple parallel development streams with clarity and prioritisation.Support production deployment, release management, and incident resolution.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure alignment.Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and sprint planning.Contribute to documentation, development guidelines, and internal tooling.Quality & ReliabilitySet up testing frameworks, CI/CD workflows, monitoring, and logging across ventures.Ensure system reliability, uptime, and data integrity for services in production.Engineering CultureContribute to engineering best practices and internal standards at the venture studio level.Mentor younger engineers on backend fundamentals and debugging approaches.Advocate for clean architecture and thoughtful modular design.Key responsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain backend modules and microservices.Integrate backend logic with frontend applications and data layers.Write clean, efficient, maintainable code following engineering best practices.Optimize systems for performance, scalability, reliability, and resilience.Implement strong security, authentication, and data protection measures.Collaborate with DevOps & QA teams to ensure smooth releases and post-deployment stability.Monitor application health using modern observability tools.Experience / Background5+ years of hands-on backend development experience.Strong exposure to microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.Deep understanding of backend engineering concepts, API design, and integration patterns.Solid experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud environments.Experience in working with engineering best practices, automation, and modern SDLC.You’re an ideal applicant if you:have an ownership mindset — treats systems, code, and uptime as personal responsibility.have high attention to detail; committed to writing clean, reliable codeare a problem-solver with a bias toward action and delivery.are collaborative, communicative, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments.are adaptable and eager to learn emerging technologies (especially AI-driven engineering tools)Expected Tech stack expertise:Must have:Backend: Python, Node.js, JSDatabases: MySQL or MongoDB.Architecture: Microservices, Event-driven systems.Integration: REST APIs, Kafka or Azure Event Hub, SocketAI-driven Development: Hands-on experience with agentic AI coding assistants/tools.Good to have:DevOps & Cloud: Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes.Caching/Monitoring: Redis, Grafana, ELK Stack.Observability tools: Application performance monitors, log aggregators.Security frameworks: Auth, encryption, secrets management.What you'll bring to AltellectStrong backend engineering depth and architectural thinking.Ability to design systems that are fast, scalable, secure, and cloud-ready.A mindset for quality, automation, and continuous improvement.Passion for modern engineering, AI-assisted development, and high-performance systems.A willingness to collaborate deeply across product, engineering, DevOps, and QA.The drive to help build next-gen, AI-led, product-centric ventures from the ground up.If you're hungry to build, lead, and innovate, this is the place to be.Apply : https://binary.so/hkWk4VO
