That's digital trust for the real world.Job summaryWe are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer - Backend to join our dynamic and innovative team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure backend services that power DigiCert's next generation trust and identity platforms. You will collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and UX teams to deliver high-quality software that delights our customers and meets enterprise-class performance, reliability, and security standards. What you will doCollaborate with product managers, UX designers and architects to understand project requirements and technical specificationsDesign, develop, test, and maintain software applications, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and performance benchmarksWrite clean, efficient, and maintainable code, in accordance with coding standards and best practicesConduct code reviews to increase code quality, consistency, and alignment with the product design and architectureAnalyze, troubleshoot, and debug product defects and provide timely solutions to customer issuesStay up to date on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve software development processes and toolsContribute to architectural decisions and help drive technical innovation within the team What you will haveBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.8+ years of experience in backend software development.Strong proficiency in Java, with hands-on experience in frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and JPA.Expertise in designing and consuming RESTful web services.Solid understanding of both relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB) and NoSQL databases.Extensive experience working with cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, or other major cloud platforms, with proficiency in deploying and managing distributed systems and services.Experience building cloud-native applications and deploying services in Kubernetes using Docker containers.Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development methodologies.Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges.Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working effectively in cross-functional teams.Passion for code quality, unit testing, and continuous improvement.Working knowledge of Gradle, Maven, or jOOQ is a plus. BenefitsGenerous time off policiesTop shelf benefits Education, wellness and lifestyle support #LI-SS1__PRESENT
