Robotics Simulation ExpertiseWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Robotics Simulation Engineer to spearhead the development of advanced simulation environments for industrial robotic manipulators. Your expertise will be crucial in designing and implementing high-fidelity simulation systems that validate robot motion planning, collision avoidance, and cycle time optimization.This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between virtual validation and real-world industrial automation.Key Responsibilities:Design and Lead Complex Simulation Environments: Develop and architect simulation systems for robotic manipulators in industry-standard platforms like Isaac Sim, with a focus on accurate kinematics, dynamics, and gripper/end-effector interactions.Motion Planning and Trajectory Optimization: Create and validate motion planning algorithms, trajectory optimization strategies, and path planning techniques for multi-axis industrial robots in simulated manufacturing cells.Simulation Testing Strategy: Establish comprehensive experiment frameworks to test manipulator behavior across varying payloads, reach envelopes, and cycle time requirements.Digital Twin Creation: Develop digital twins of industrial workcells, including robot arms, fixtures, conveyors, and sensors, to enable virtual commissioning and offline programming.Automation Initiatives: Drive automation efforts by building and maintaining robust testing pipelines, integrating simulation seamlessly into CI/CD workflows, and establishing best practices for the team.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create technical specifications and establish documentation standards to facilitate knowledge sharing across engineering teams.Required Skills and Qualifications:5+ Years of Professional Experience: Proven experience in robotics simulation, specifically with robotic manipulators and industrial automation.Industrial Robot Programming: Hands-on experience programming and integrating industrial robots (KUKA, FANUC, ABB, Universal Robots, or similar) in production environments.Robot Controller Interfaces: Familiarity with industrial robot programming languages (KRL, RAPID, LS, URScript) and robot controller interfaces.Expert-Level Python Programming: Demonstrated ability to write maintainable, performant code for complex robotic systems.ROS/ROS 2 Architecture: Deep expertise with ROS/ROS 2 architecture, including MoveIt for motion planning, custom node development, and system integration.Simulation Platforms: Production experience with simulation platforms (Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or equivalent) for manipulator validation in real-world robotics projects.Theoretical Foundation: Strong theoretical foundation in manipulator kinematics (forward/inverse), dynamics, Jacobians, singularity analysis, and trajectory planning.Industrial Automation Concepts: Understanding of industrial automation concepts: PLC integration, safety systems, I/O protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT).Technical Leadership: Proven track record of technical leadership with ability to make architectural decisions and influence engineering direction.Fast-Paced Environment: Experience working in fast-paced startup or product-driven environments.
