š Freelance Opportunity: Technical Writer Weāre seeking an experienced Technical Writer for an independent contract (freelance) role, focused on GenAI and Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) programs. This is a remote opportunity offering the flexibility to collaborate globally with AI researchers, engineers, and data teams. About the Role As a Technical Writer , you will communicate complex technical information clearly, concisely, and effectively. Youāll play a key role in designing and refining task instructions for rater platforms and human evaluation workflows ā connecting research, engineering, and data annotation teams. You will lead documentation and training initiatives, ensuring clarity and consistency across AI-driven projects. Key Responsibilities Lead the strategy and execution of task design and instruction creation for GenAI programs. Define and establish best practices, templates, and quality standards for rater instruction design. Collaborate with product and research teams to define clear data requirements and provide expert consultation on task design. Develop and iterate on high-quality rater instructions that minimize ambiguity and ensure data accuracy. Design and deliver internal training programs and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base on task design. Translate complex technical inputs from engineers and researchers into clear, actionable instructional content . Author, edit, and maintain technical guides, templates, and quality control (QC) rubrics . Act as a pilot user for new workflows, refining materials through feedback and data-driven insights. Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, or a similar role focused on HITL or rater platforms. Strong understanding of task definition and instruction design principles . Hands-on experience with HTML, Python, data analysis, Markdown, or Git/version control systems . Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and translate requirements into clear, user-ready documentation. Experience designing and delivering training programs . Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in Technical Communication, Instructional Design, Human-Computer Interaction , or a related field. Experience working with large-scale human evaluation platforms, crowdsourcing, or rater-based data collection . Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and data labeling processes . Experience using data analysis to evaluate and improve instruction quality.
