A Program Manager for a Development Program is responsible for overseeing and coordinating various projects aimed at organizational development and growth. Here are some key responsibilities and skills typically associated with this role:
Key Responsibilities:
• Program Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies to achieve the goals of the development program.
• Resourcing & Knowledge management: Responsible for hiring the right skill sets required for the project, plan and train the resources for knowledge gaps, and ability to implement the effective knowledge management framework for projects with in scope.
• Resource retention & backfilling: Able to implement the processes to identify the key resources, succession plans, predict the resource attrition, and effectively manage the backfill.
• Project Coordination: Coordinate multiple projects within the program, ensuring they align with overall objectives.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure their needs are met.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor the progress of projects, evaluate their performance, and make necessary adjustments.
• Team Leadership: Lead and support project managers and teams to ensure successful project delivery. Ability to motivate the team leaders and team members, performance evaluation on regular interval
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program success.
• Change Management: Participate in the change control board, able to analyze the changes and take decision on changes which are impacting the products in scope.

• Product development & maintenance: Strong experience in managing the large development projects in Travel Domain
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans for program success.
• Program Management: Proficiency in program management methodologies and tools.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and teams.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to evaluate project performance and make data-driven decisions.
• Domain: Experience in managing the programs in travel domain, specifically in Airline, GDS, Travel Tech domain is must
• Modernization & Transformation: Experience in managing the large modernization & transformation programs is plus
• Continuous Innovation: Ability to identify the opportunities for automation, productivity gains, and implementation of Gen AI tools with in the program to fastrack the development.
• Operating Model for S&M: Expertise in management tools like using agile for development, KanBan for support, ITSM based operating models. Expertise in tools like Rally, JIRA is must.
