DescriptionWe have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level. As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team, you will be an experienced member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering reliable, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Job responsibilitiesExecutes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceStrong proficiency in Java, with hands-on experience in Java 17 and above, including familiarity with new language features.Solid understanding and practical experience with Java Streams for data processing and functional programming.Experience working with reactive programming frameworks, especially Spring WebFlux.Good knowledge of cloud concepts, particularly with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent cloud platforms.Experience with DynamoDB or equivalent NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Jules, or equivalent platforms for automated build, test, and deployment processes.Experience writing test cases using testing tools like JUnit, Test Driven Development (TDD).Experience using code versioning tools, such as Git, BitbucketHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CyclePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExposure to cloud technologiesFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially TerraformKnowledge of messaging systems, especially Apache Kafka, for event-driven and distributed architecturesExperience with containerization and deployment tools such as Docker similar technologies
