Job Description – Senior ArchitectPosition: Senior ArchitectReports To: Principal Architect / DirectorLocation: Bengaluru, Karnataka.Employment Type: Full-timeRole OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Architect to join our dynamic startup team. This role is the second-in-command to the Principal Architect and will take full ownership of projects, leading them independently from concept to completion with minimal guidance. The ideal candidate will have strong design vision, robust technical expertise, excellent project management skills, and the ability to create systems and processes to scale our architecture practice.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Technical LeadershipLead the design process for projects of varying scale (residential, commercial, mixed-use, interiors, etc.).Translate client briefs into innovative, functional, and sustainable architectural solutions.Ensure technical accuracy, detailing, and constructability of all design outputs.Oversee production of drawings, presentations, and design deliverables using Revit/AutoCAD/SketchUp and other tools.Maintain design quality and alignment with the Principal Architect's vision.Project ManagementIndependently lead projects from concept design to site execution and handover.Prepare, track, and monitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.Coordinate across consultants, contractors, vendors, and clients.Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.Oversee site supervision, resolve technical queries, and ensure construction aligns with design intent.Systems & Process CreationDevelop and implement SOPs, checklists, and workflows for design, documentation, and project execution.Establish systems for project tracking, drawing management, and quality control.Introduce best practices in workflows, file organization, and project collaboration.Leadership & Team DevelopmentMentor, guide, and review the work of junior architects, interns, and project teams.Act as the Principal Architect's representative in client meetings, design discussions, and project reviews.Build a culture of design excellence, accountability, and collaboration within the team.Required Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's / Master's Degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.6–12 years of professional experience in architecture (startup/fast-paced firm experience preferred).Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity, functionality, and execution.Proficiency in necessary architectural software'sSolid understanding of building codes, regulations, and approval processes.Proven ability to manage projects independently end-to-end.Excellent leadership, communication, and client-handling skills.Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.What We're Looking ForA hands-on leader who can own projects with minimal oversight.Someone who thrives in a startup environment, where flexibility and initiative are key.A process-builder who can create scalable systems for our growing firm.Passionate about design excellence, sustainability, and innovation.Growth PathThis role is intended as a strategic leadership position within the firm.
