Role Overview:
As a SQL Server DBA at Krish Services Group, you will be a pivotal member of our Managed Services practice, collaborating closely with both our clients' technical and business teams. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth functioning of SQL Server environments, from design and implementation to ongoing maintenance and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with clients to design and implement robust database solutions tailored to their specific needs.
- Conduct database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization to enhance system efficiency.
- Develop and execute backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data.
- Lead database upgrades, migrations, and version updates, adhering to best practices and minimizing downtime.
- Implement and manage SQL security settings to protect sensitive information.
- Automate SQL Server tasks to streamline operations and improve productivity.
- Provide 24x7 support and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA, including expertise in database design, installation, and configuration.
- Proficiency in SQL Server high availability technologies (e.g., Failover Clusters, Always On), replication, and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning, maintenance, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, including migrations from on-premises environments.
- Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and other SQL Server tools for data integration, analytics, and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCTS, MCITP) and previous MSP experience are preferred.
