JOB PURPOSE:

The Director Talent Development at Sage Publishing will be responsible for designing and implementing a global learning strategy that aligns with our mission to enable the dissemination of knowledge and support academic and professional development worldwide. This role will focus on creating innovative learning programs that empower Sage employees to drive business growth, foster leadership, and cultivate a culture of continuous learning in addition to playing a pivotal role in advancing our vision of creating an informed society by embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) into all learning and development initiatives.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•Develop and execute a global learning and development strategy that aligns with Sage’s mission to support the dissemination of knowledge and foster educational progress.

•Create and implement leadership development programs that cultivate the next generation of leaders at Sage, ensuring that our values of integrity, innovation, and inclusivity are reflected in leadership practices.

•Design and deliver scalable global learning programs tailored to the unique needs of Sage’s geographically diverse workforce, leveraging blended learning approaches.

•Integrate the latest in learning technologies (LMS, AI-driven tools, VR/AR learning) to deliver engaging, relevant, and innovative learning solutions.

•Own and manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure service provisions are met and learning investments are fully realized.

•Align L&D initiatives with performance management processes, ensuring learning and development supports talent progression, capability-building, and individual growth using data-driven insights to measure the effectiveness of L&D programs and ensure a clear return on investment (ROI), continuously optimizing learning solutions based on feedback and performance metrics.

•Lead and develop a global L&D team, ensuring alignment with Sage’s mission of delivering meaningful educational content and fostering growth while overseeing the L&D budget, ensuring that resources are effectively deployed to achieve the greatest impact across global teams.

• Partner with Sage’s DEI leadership to embed equity and inclusion into all aspects of the global

learning strategy and create / promote learning initiatives that address unconscious bias, inclusive

leadership, and cross-cultural competence, supporting Sage’s commitment to fostering a diverse

and equitable workplace.


SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Significant demonstrated experience managing global learning programs, with an

understanding of how to tailor learning solutions to diverse cultures and geographies.

• Extensive experience in creating and scaling leadership development programs with

demonstrable return on investment, particularly in organizations with a mission-driven focus

like Sage.

• Proficient in using modern learning technologies and tools (e.g., LMS, e-learning platforms),

with a keen understanding of how technology can enhance global learning experiences.

• Strong analytical skills with a track record of using data to measure the effectiveness of

learning programs and making informed decisions.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to

influence senior stakeholders and engage a wide variety of audiences.

• Demonstrated passion and comprehensive experience in integrating DEI principles into

learning and development programs.

• Strategic and visionary thinker with a passion for education and knowledge dissemination.

• Proven ability to drive strategic transformation globally with significant utilisation of change

management practices

• Strong business acumen with an understanding of how learning supports organizational

growth.

• Collaborative leader with excellent stakeholder management skills.

• Adaptable, resilient, and innovative, with a focus on continuous improvement.
