Senior Data Analyst Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our Finance and Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting analytics, with the ability to partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality insights and data models.This role will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining SQL-based datasets, views, and queries to support recurring and ad hoc analysis. Additionally, the Senior Data Analyst will develop and enhance dashboards and reports in Tableau or Power BI, ensuring they are accurate, reliable, and user-friendly.The successful candidate will have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive to actionable insights. They will also be able to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders, gathering requirements and translating them into effective data solutions.Key Responsibilities:Partner with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to understand business questions, reporting needs, and analytical requirements.Design, build, and maintain SQL-based datasets, views, and queries to support recurring and ad hoc analysis.Develop and enhance dashboards and reports in Tableau or Power BI.Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and revenue growth.Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to improve data models, data quality, and documentation across Finance/Accounting domains.Translate complex findings into clear narratives and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.Contribute to the design and implementation of automation and standardization for recurring Finance/Accounting reporting and metrics.Required Qualifications:5+ years of professional experience in a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence, or Analytics role.Strong hands-on expertise with SQL, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and performance tuning.Experience developing and maintaining dashboards and reports in Tableau or Power BI.Demonstrated experience working with finance or accounting data, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, GL, revenue, expenses, AR/AP, write-offs, and reconciliations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive to actionable insights.Proven ability to work with non-technical stakeholders, gather requirements, and translate them into effective data solutions.Preferred Qualifications:Experience supporting a FP&A, Controllership, or Accounting team in a high-growth or technology environment.Familiarity with cloud data warehouses and modern data stacks.Experience with version control and/or workflow orchestration tools.Exposure to SOX, internal controls, or audit processes related to financial reporting.Basic proficiency in Python or R or advanced analytics.Personal Attributes:High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.Curious, proactive, and motivated to improve processes and build scalable solutions.
