Senior Underwriting Leadership RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced underwriter who wants to make a real difference in the mortgage industry. As a senior underwriter, you will be responsible for managing teams of underwriters, reviewing investor findings, and minimizing saleability risk.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the organization and business, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. They will be able to handle problems and solve issues without precedents or guidelines, and will be process-driven and self-starting with high degrees of time management, people management, discipline, negotiation, and foresight.Key Responsibilities:Manage highly motivated teams of underwritersReview investor findings and cure to minimize saleability riskMaintain an in-depth understanding of the organization and business, handle problems, and solve issues without precedents or guidelinesLeadership Skills:Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and presentation skillsProcess-driven, self-starter with high degree of skills in time management, people management, discipline, negotiation, foresee risks, be proactive, and predictive while developing mitigation plans for the programUnderstand cultural nuancesPeople Management:Build effective teams and develop direct reportsEnsure strong employee communication in the program through different forums and employee engagementManage BU operations to meet financial goals while meeting customer expectationsBusiness Performance:Maintain client Service Level Agreement Standards (SLAs) and client satisfactionAlign priorities to ensure client SLAs are metStructured and periodic performance managementClient Management:Actively engage with clients for support and expectation managementClient escalation handling and close loopingRequirements:Graduate degree or equivalent (10+2+3 years of education)Strong knowledge of E2E Underwriting, Live UW, Post Close, and Pre-Funding UnderwritingMinimum 6-8 years of experience in Underwriting (US Mortgage)
