API Engineering RoleWe are seeking an experienced API engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, implementing and operating our Enterprise AI API platform.Main Responsibilities:Develop APIs using industry-standard tools such as IBM API Connect or DataPower gateways.Create and implement API governance policies including authentication/authorization, rate limits, quotas, versioning and lifecycle management.Manage the API gateway, routing, transformation, orchestration, protocol mediation and traffic control.Publish APIs on a developer portal, onboard internal/external consumers, document APIs and manage self-service subscription.Monitor API usage, performance, latency, error metrics and analyze usage patterns and production issues.Implement API security and resilience measures, secure back-end integrations, validate payload, mitigate threats and ensure high-availability.Familiarity with cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) is beneficial.Stay updated on API management best practices, emerging protocols and evolving tool capabilities.Required Skills:Extensive experience in designing and implementing APIs.Knowledge of API governance, security and resilience.Proficiency in managing API gateways and related infrastructure.Ability to publish APIs on a developer portal and onboard consumers.Experience in monitoring API performance, latency and error metrics.Strong understanding of API security and resilience principles.Benefits:Opportunity to work on a cutting-edge Enterprise AI API platform.Collaborative and dynamic work environment.Chance to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.Note:This job requires strong technical skills and experience in API engineering.
