We are seeking a ServiceNow Automation Testing Engineer with expertise in IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to design, develop, and execute automated testing frameworks for ServiceNow workflows, integrations, and asset management modules. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and reliability of ITAM and CMDB processes while enhancing overall platform quality through automated and manual testing practices.



Key Responsibilities:1. Test Automation Framework Development
  • Develop and implement the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) to validate workflows, integrations, and configurations, with a strong focus on ITAM and CMDB modules.
  • Design reusable and scalable test automation scripts to validate asset discovery, configuration item (CI) updates, and data synchronization.
  • Align test frameworks with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and ServiceNow best practices.
2. ITAM and CMDB Testing
  • Validate asset lifecycle processes, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal, ensuring accurate data capture and reporting.
  • Test CMDB relationships, dependencies, and data accuracy to maintain a reliable configuration management system.
  • Ensure integrations between ServiceNow ITAM, CMDB, and third-party systems (e.g., SCCM, Jamf, or cloud platforms) are functioning correctly.
  • Validate the accuracy of discovery and reconciliation rules within the CMDB module.
3. Test Planning and Execution
  • Define and document test plans, scenarios, and acceptance criteria for ITAM and CMDB modules and related workflows.
  • Execute automated and manual test cases to validate system functionality, integrations, and performance.
  • Collaborate with developers and IT teams to address defects and ensure resolutions meet requirements.
4. Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD)
  • Integrate ServiceNow testing into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation of ITAM, CMDB, and related components.
  • Set up automated test triggers to validate code changes, asset data updates, and CMDB integrity promptly.
5. Reporting and Analytics
  • Create detailed test reports to track the quality of ITAM and CMDB implementations.
  • Develop custom dashboards to monitor asset lifecycle performance, CMDB health, and test coverage metrics.
6. Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with developers, IT asset managers, and configuration management teams to understand requirements and design effective test strategies.
  • Act as a liaison between QA, ServiceNow development, and operations teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
7. Platform Optimization and Maintenance
  • Continuously refine and optimize automated testing frameworks for ITAM and CMDB to ensure scalability and maintainability.
  • Maintain and update test scripts as ServiceNow platform upgrades, enhancements, or new modules are introduced.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in testing ServiceNow applications, with a focus on ITAM and CMDB modules.
  • Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) and scripting using JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow ITAM processes, including asset discovery, inventory management, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Experience in testing CMDB integrations, CI relationships, and data reconciliation processes.
  • Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs and tools for validating ServiceNow integrations.
  • Experience in quality assurance tools and practices, including manual testing and performance testing.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.




Preferred Skills and Certifications:
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • ServiceNow ITAM and CMDB certifications (e.g., CIS-ITAM, CIS-CMDB)
  • Experience with ITAM discovery tools (e.g., SCCM, Jamf, Qualys).
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices and ServiceNow CMDB design principles.
