Database Administrator - Vector DatabaseJob DescriptionAs a seasoned Database Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our vector database. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining database health, performance, and availability.Key responsibilities include monitoring database performance using built-in tools and custom alerts, implementing backup, restore, and cloning strategies for disaster recovery and operational continuity, as well as supporting ingestion and indexing of vector data for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications.Additionally, you will optimize storage and query performance using Storage Attached Indexing and vector search capabilities, collaborate with data engineering teams to design and maintain schemas and collections, ensure database security through role-based access control, encryption, and audit logging, and maintain compliance with internal and external data governance policies.Required Skills and QualificationsProven experience as a DBA in production environments, preferably with NoSQL or distributed databases.Hands-on experience with DataStax Astra DB, especially vector database features.Familiarity with GenAI use cases, semantic search, and vector embeddings.Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation and data operations.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and multi-region deployments.Strong understanding of database security, performance tuning, and monitoring.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.BenefitsAs a key member of our team, you will enjoy a range of benefits including opportunities for professional growth, a collaborative work environment, and competitive compensation.OthersIf you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for database administration, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
