This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll make foundational architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure our systems scale reliably as we grow into millions of users across countries.If you enjoy solving complex engineering problems, owning systems end-to-end, and shaping technical strategy that has real human impact this role is for you.Key ResponsibilitiesLead architecture, design, and development of scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js (Express/Nest.js).Make high-impact decisions around:Microservices & distributed systemsPerformance optimizationData modelingCaching strategiesEvent-driven architectureOwn the technical roadmap for backend systems end-to-end.Mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and technical guidance; uplift the engineering bar across the team.Ensure systems are built with high-quality standards: automated testing, observability, logging, alerting, and performance tuning.Collaborate closely with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams to ship scalable features quickly and reliably.Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve engineering velocity and maintainability.Ensure reliability and availability of backend systems, backed by SLAs, monitoring, and proactive issue prevention.Drive continuous improvement across engineering practices, design patterns, and development workflows.Requirements7–10+ years of backend engineering experience with deep expertise in Node.js and asynchronous programming.Strong knowledge of:REST API designMicroservices & distributed architectureEvent-driven & pub/sub systemsConcurrency & async patternsExpertise in SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/DynamoDB/Redis).Experience with messaging systems: Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or equivalent.Strong familiarity with AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda).Hands-on experience leading engineering teams, reviewing designs, and owning major systems.Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.Who is Amura?We are a HealthTech company with presence across multiple countries.
