Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design electrical system layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel designs using Microstation software.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations related to electrical design in the oil and gas industry.
- Collaborate with project engineers and other team members to interpret electrical design requirements and ensure that designs meet project specifications.
- Prepare and maintain accurate design documentation, including drawings, calculations, and design reports.
- Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams during the execution phase of projects.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure that all electrical designs meet the specified client requirements and project schedules.
- Perform design changes and revisions based on project feedback and ensure traceability of modifications.
- Assist in the preparation of material requisitions, equipment specifications, and vendor data review.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress, issues, and project timelines.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, instrumentation) to ensure integrated and seamless design output.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical design, with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience using Microstation in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and cable tray design.
- Experience working on offshore and onshore oil and gas projects.
- Software Skills:
- Proficient in using Microstation for electrical design drafting.
- Familiarity with electrical design software tools and AutoCAD (preferred).
- Knowledge of Industry Standards:
- Knowledge of relevant electrical design codes, including IEC, NEC, IEEE, and local oil and gas industry standards.
- Experience with IEC Ex and hazardous area classification designs is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex design specifications and project requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Certifications: Certification in electrical design software and industry-specific safety training is a plus (e.g., HAZOP, ATEX, etc.).
