English Language Arts SpecialistThe role involves creating assessment items aligned to state standards and testing blueprints for English Language Arts (ELA) grades 3-8 and English I across multiple states. The specialist will review content alignment, ensure quality and accuracy, and develop AI-generated and SME-authored assessment items.The specialist will collaborate with the Learning Design team to generate and review questions, evaluating them for accuracy, pedagogical relevance, rigor, and alignment to standards and objectives. They will also author items, ensuring they align with specified ELA standards, are original, meet expected rigor, adhere to pedagogical best practices, and follow client guidelines.Key Responsibilities:Review and evaluate assessment questions for accuracy, relevance, and rigor.Collaborate with the Learning Design team to generate and review questions.Author assessment items, including passages and questions, for each grade level and state.Ensure alignment to state standards and objectives.Qualifications:Proven expertise as an English Language Arts instructor (Grade 3-8 and HS English I content level).Demonstrated experience in authoring high-quality, rigorous assessment items for state or standardized testing.Strong understanding of Depth of Knowledge (DOK) levels and experience authoring questions at DOK Level 2 and DOK Level 3.Familiarity with various question types, including multiple-choice, multiple-select, and short-answer.
