Job Overview:We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to oversee privacy compliance, internal audits, and operational privacy management across multiple locations.This role will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners, including universities, clients, and vendors.The ideal candidate will report directly to the organization's Data Protection Officer, who reports to the General Counsel.Key Responsibilities:Our Senior Associate, Privacy Legal and Compliance will be responsible for coordinating and managing data privacy issues and risk across our operations.Develop and implement organization-wide privacy compliance strategies in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.Conduct regular privacy and data protection audits; identify risks, recommend, and track remediation measures.Collaborate with operational teams to ensure robust processes for the compliant handling of personal data, and provide strategic advice on privacy issues.Draft, review, and update privacy policies, procedures, and notices tailored for educational settings.Review and negotiate contracts, including drafting and negotiating data processing agreements.Conduct privacy impact assessments.Organize and deliver ongoing privacy awareness and training for employees.Respond to data subject requests and complaints concerning data privacy.Monitor regulatory updates and sector trends to ensure prompt adoption of necessary operational changes.Support incident management, data breach response, and communication with regulatory authorities.Monitor developments in global regulations, legislature, and privacy best practices, and advise on the need and rationale for changes required within the organization.
