Job Title: Senior Data Engineer – Databricks ExpertAbout the Job:This role requires an experienced Data Engineer with deep expertise in Databricks to design and develop scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will lead Databricks-focused projects, build complex data pipelines, and provide architectural direction for Databricks-based data solutions.We are looking for a professional who can independently contribute to enterprise-level data initiatives. The job involves collaborating with business teams to deliver clean, reliable, and consumable datasets for analytics. The right candidate should have strong communication skills and be able to work independently in a part-time capacity.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines using Databricks.Architect and implement data lakehouse solutions and ETL/ELT workflows on the Databricks platform.Collaborate with business and data teams to deliver clean, reliable, and consumable datasets for analytics.Optimize and maintain Apache Spark-based data processing jobs using PySpark and Delta Lake.Build and manage workflows in Databricks Workflows and Job clusters.Contribute to governance, data cataloging, version control, and best practices in data engineering.Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to internal teams on Databricks adoption.(Optional) Support integration with MSBI tools if required by the project.Required Qualifications:10+ years of overall experience in data engineering or data platform development.Extensive hands-on experience in Databricks, PySpark, Delta Lake, and Spark SQL.Proven experience leading Databricks-based projects and teams.Strong understanding of data lake architecture, medallion architecture, and performance tuning in Databricks.Proficient in Python for data manipulation and scripting.Experience working with structured and semi-structured data (e.g., JSON, Parquet).Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a part-time capacity.Benefits: Flexible, remote work with a 20-hour weekly commitment.
