Job Description Looking for a Legal leader (Asst director/sr manager) with 8-12 years experience for a Global IT organisation based out of Chennai. About the Role: The role involves overseeing various legal functions within the organization, ensuring compliance, managing disputes, and leading a team of legal professionals. Responsibilities: - Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including client agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, SLAs, and licensing agreements. Ensure contracts are compliant with applicable laws and internal policies. - Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor and ensure compliance with local and international laws relevant to IT services. Develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures. Conduct periodic legal audits and risk assessments. - Dispute Resolution & Litigation: Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters, including coordination with external counsel. Represent the company in legal proceedings when required. - Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the IT industry. Communicate relevant legal updates to stakeholders and ensure timely compliance. - Team Management: Manage a team of legal professionals. Mentor junior team members and support their professional growth through training, feedback, and career development plans. Conduct regular performance reviews and identify skill gaps for upskilling. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB); Master's degree (LLM) or specialization in corporate law is optional. - Minimum 8-12 years of experience in corporate legal roles, preferably in IT or technology services. - Strong understanding of contract law, IT regulations, data protection laws, and employment law. - Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple legal projects and stakeholders simultaneously. - High ethical standards and professional integrity.
