Delhi, India Jive Jar Full time

Senior Accountant – Multi-Entity Finance & Compliance Location: Kukatpally / Gachibowli, Hyderabad (India Office) Work Mode: Hybrid — 5 days in office + 1 day WFH (Saturday) Timings: 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM IST (US shift) About the Role We’re looking for a full-stack accountant who can own the finance function across multiple fast-growing businesses managed by a single founder group. This isn’t a narrow bookkeeping job. It’s a core finance-control role responsible for maintaining clean, compliant, and real-time accounts across different brands operating in both India and the U.S. You’ll work directly with the founders, manage multiple ledgers, reconcile international accounts, coordinate with outlet managers abroad, and keep the group’s books audit-ready at all times. Your goal: ensure every number seen by the founders is accurate, traceable, and up-to-date. Core Responsibilities 1. Accounting & Bookkeeping Maintain day-to-day books of accounts for all entities (India and overseas). Record every transaction including sales, purchases, vendor bills, reimbursements, and inter-company transfers. Tag all entries correctly under brand, department, and cost center. Manage month-end and year-end closures, journal entries, and adjustments. Oversee bank reconciliations for multiple Indian and U.S. accounts. Review credit card, POS, and digital payment settlements (Stripe, Clover, Toast, PayPal, etc.). Import/export data from ERPs and payment gateways. Track depreciation, prepaid expenses, and accruals monthly. 2. Financial Reporting & MIS Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports — P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and brand/outlet-wise summaries. Generate income and expense trend reports, highlighting anomalies. Present consolidated financial dashboards for founder review. Maintain an organized repository of management reports and workings. Support budgeting and track actuals versus projections. 3. Compliance & Taxation Manage GST, TDS, and ROC filings in coordination with external CAs. Prepare audit schedules and support annual filings. Ensure every invoice and vendor record is legally compliant. Liaise with U.S. CPAs for federal and state filings. Maintain organized digital folders for all compliance documents. Track all tax deadlines, renewals, and statutory obligations. 4. Reconciliations & Controls Handle multi-currency reconciliations between Indian and U.S. books. Review inter-company balances and document adjustments. Maintain control over AR/AP ledgers. Flag discrepancies, duplicates, or missing transactions. Cross-verify marketing, payroll, and vendor expenses with approvals. Implement internal checks for spend approvals and fund transfers. 5. Payroll & Vendor Management Prepare monthly payroll for staff across India and the U.S. Validate attendance, reimbursements, and incentives. Ensure timely salary disbursement and statutory deductions. Oversee vendor onboarding, invoice verification, and payment scheduling. Maintain live trackers for outstanding vendor/client payments. 6. Coordination & Communication Serve as the single financial coordination point between founders, outlet managers, and external accountants. Communicate with overseas teams during overlap hours. Draft weekly financial summary emails for founders. Join management and auditor review calls as required. Maintain confidentiality in all financial communications. 7. Process & System Optimization Standardize accounting formats and templates across entities. Support implementation of QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or Tally Prime as unified systems. Build simple dashboards in Excel/Sheets for real-time visibility. Continuously improve accuracy and process efficiency. Train interns or support staff handling basic entries. Required Experience & Skill Set Experience: 4–6 years of hands-on accounting, managing end-to-end books independently. Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Zoho Books, or Tally Prime. Strong Excel/Google Sheets (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data validation, etc.). Experience in multi-currency accounting and foreign reconciliations. Familiarity with Indian GAAP and basic U.S. GAAP. Comfortable working across digital accounting systems and cloud storage. Communication: Excellent English (spoken and written). Comfortable collaborating with overseas stakeholders during late shifts. Behavioral Skills: Meticulous attention to detail and ownership mindset. Operates like an internal controller, not just a processor. Handles confidential data with integrity. Strong prioritization and time-management skills. Education B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / MBA (Finance) or equivalent. Certification in QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar tools preferred. Reporting Structure Reports directly to Founders / Director of Operations. Coordinates with external Chartered Accountants and U.S. CPAs. Works cross-functionally with Marketing, Procurement, and HR teams. Growth & Learning Opportunities Exposure to multi-country accounting and compliance. Direct mentorship from founders managing diverse businesses. Opportunity to lead a finance team as the group scales. Potential to grow into Finance Manager or Group Controller role. Ideal Candidate Profile You’ll thrive in this role if you: Can manage multiple books independently. Enjoy working closely with entrepreneurs and founders. Have handled international or remote entity reconciliations. Take pride in maintaining audit-ready books. Balance precision and speed in a fast-moving setup. Why This Role Matters You’ll be the financial backbone of the group. Every strategic decision depends on the data you maintain. Your precision keeps the company grounded in facts, not assumptions — making you one of the most trusted people in the organization.
