Are you ready to join us This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages the logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly.The Associate II, Production Planning (Professional Path), is primarily responsible for maintaining material schedules to support production control, compiling records on material status, and ensuring smooth material flow between departments. You will identify shortages and initiate corrective actions, applying specialized knowledge to achieve project goals. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain schedules for material requirements and availability to support production control. - Compile records on the quantity, cost, and type of material received, shipped, in stock, or in production. - Support the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments according to production and shipping schedules. - Determine possible and actual shortages and initiate corrective actions. - Apply specialized knowledge to perform tasks and achieve objectives. - Follow procedures with some decision-making authority, requiring job-related training, attention to detail, and reliability. - Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control - Complete all required training and meet individual job requirements - Contribute to the overall compliance of the organization and commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirementsAll associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications: - Qualifications: Associate shall have the appropriate education and experience to successfully perform the responsibilities/activities of this role. - 3-6 years of total experience. - Responsible for maintaining schedules for material requirements and availability for the manufacture of industrial and commercial products to support production control. - Supporting flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules. Responsible for determining possible and actual shortages. - Uses knowledge of Supplier's process, production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert proper authorities regarding potential problems and appropriate remedial action. - Estimates and logs production rate and time expenditures and may be required to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates. Handles direct material buying. - Monitors Production to ensure promised delivery dates are met. - Reviews master production schedule to determine possible and actual shortages and alerts proper authorities of potential problems.
