Role Description Our team is looking for a detail-oriented and analytically minded Scientific Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of research data—from raw dataset cleaning to advanced visual interpretation. You will play a critical role in transforming raw data from preclinical (in vitro/in vivo) and clinical studies into high-quality statistical reports, publication-ready figures, and meaningful scientific conclusions. Key Responsibilities 1. Data Management & Integrity Import, clean, and organize raw data from various formats (Excel, CSV, Electronic Data Capture systems) to ensure accuracy and consistency. Perform quality control (QC) checks on datasets to identify outliers, missing values, or data entry errors prior to analysis. Format datasets to be compatible with specific analytical software (GraphPad Prism, SPSS, etc.). 2. Statistical Analysis Select and apply appropriate statistical tests based on study design (e.g., ANOVA, t-tests, regression analysis, survival analysis/Kaplan-Meier, non-parametric tests). Analyze preclinical data (e.g., PK/PD studies, toxicology, IC50/EC50 calculations) and clinical trial data (efficacy and safety endpoints). Interpret statistical outputs (p-values, confidence intervals, effect sizes) in the context of biological relevance. 3. Visualization & Reporting Generate high-resolution, publication-quality graphs (bar charts, scatter plots, heatmaps, forest plots) using GraphPad Prism or similar tools. Create comprehensive summary tables and formatted figures for manuscripts, regulatory submissions, and internal presentations. Draft the "Statistical Methods" and "Results" sections for study reports and scientific publications. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Biostatistics, Life Sciences, Data Science, or a related field. Experience: 6+ months of experience handling scientific data in a pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, or academic research setting. Technical Skills (Must-Have) Statistical Software: Advanced proficiency in GraphPad Prism (essential for preclinical visualization) and SPSS, SAS, or R (for complex statistical modeling). Data Handling: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and handling CSV/Text data files. Domain Knowledge: Understanding of experimental designs (randomization, blinding) in preclinical (animal) and clinical (human) studies. Soft Skills Scientific Literacy: Ability to understand the biological context of the data to provide meaningful interpretation rather than just numerical output. Attention to Detail: Uncompromising accuracy in data validation and reporting. Communication: Ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non-statisticians and research scientists.
