Your impact Role Title Rail Track and Civil Engineer Summary The primary responsibilities of the role are - Significant experience in providing technical input and direction in the design, rehabilitation and management of Rail Track and Civil infrastructure for metro, freight heavy rail and light rail infrastructure. - Significant capability and breadth of experience to - Develop Track and Civil Design documentation, reports and specification of Engineering solutions in response to a client's brief. - Provide technical input and advice with respect to Track and Civil infrastructure in accordance with relevant local and Australian Standards. - Confidently review, independently check and approval Track and Civil design completed by others. - Strong experience coordinating and communicating of Rail Track and Civil with other disciplines. - Maintain the development of good relationships with colleagues and clients, both internal and external to support successful project outcomes. - Support project/design manager in the control/reporting of project. - Maintain competency in the field of Rail Track and Civil engineering and stay up-to-date with contemporary practice and trends in the industry. - Provide mentorship of junior and mid-level engineers and take an active role in the team's technical development and standing in the industry - Support the liaison with key clients and contractors. - Practice ethically and professionally. - Design management of medium to large Track and Civil packages. The role involves complete design system for oversea projects and able to work under environment of Global integration delivery. Responsible for coordination with overseas client to deliver the project with in defined timeline. Technical And Speciality Skills Technical and Development - Significant knowledge and breadth of experience in preparing Rail Track and Civil Design Layouts, Cross Sections, and details. - Strong understanding of design principles and methods of heavy (Freight and Metro) and light rail track design. - Strong understanding of the multi-disciplinary interfaces with Track and Civil design. - Strong understanding of technical standards for design, construction and maintenance. - Strong understanding knowledge of the Australia & New Zealand environment, relevant industry, particularly working within the Victorian Rail Industry. People and Team - Significant contribution to a culture of excellence in quality work and successful projects - Active participation in the Jacobs Community of Practice and support the discipline Technical Director's initiatives - Active participation in achieving best for project outcomes - Provide feedback and coaching to junior team members - Supports internal learning and development / knowledge sharing in area of expertise within Jacobs. - Develop working relationships across various disciplines - Supports our virtual teaming strategy for Technical Discipline, and a culture supporting work-sharing and mobility across the business. Client and Industry - Maintain and build on existing client relationships, internal and external, through an understanding of client needs and effective communication - Support strong service delivery to all clients - Client liaison and attendance at external project meetings - Contribute to securing new or repeat business through successful performance and delivery of projects - Support technical relationships with client on projects Project Delivery and Performance - Strong experience on major and multidisciplinary Rail projects. - Support Project Managers in managing operational risk, project delivery, HSEC, quality and service - Support to achieve best for project outcomes - Identify and address issues that would impact on desired project outcomes - Provide progress information to allow accurate reporting of progress - Identify and communicate resource availability / constraints - A desire to achieve high quality outputs and deliver excellent service Reports to Section Manager Rail India Here's what you'll need Qualifications - Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. - Minimum of 8-10 years of design experience in railway engineering. - Knowledge of Railroad standards. - Knowledge of special trackwork elements for design and procurement. - Project management or coordination experience. - Proficient in Microstation and/or InRoads/InRail. - Computer literate with MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams). - Experience performing duties associated with construction phase services. - Strong time management and attention to detail. - Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with clients.
