About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior PostgreSQL Developer to design develop and optimize data systems that power our business-critical applications and analytics platforms The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PostgreSQL internals query optimization and data modeling along with hands-on experience in building performant and scalable database-driven solutions Key Responsibilities Database Design Development Design develop and optimize complex PostgreSQL schemas including tables views materialized views indexes triggers and functions to meet business and performance requirements Query Development Analytics Write debug and optimize medium to complex SQL queries in Metabase and PostgreSQL for analytics reporting and data extraction Performance Optimization Tune and refactor SQL queries stored procedures and PL pgSQL scripts to ensure efficient data manipulation and high query performance Collaboration Integration Work closely with frontend backend developers and product managers to define database schemas design efficient APIs integrate JSON NoSQL features and manage large complex datasets Data Security Compliance Implement robust database security measures manage backup and recovery processes and ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR Mentorship Best Practices Mentor junior developers conduct peer code reviews and promote best practices in database development coding standards and documentation Requirements Required Skills Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field 5 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL database development and optimization Proficiency in PL pgSQL complex joins indexing strategies and query tuning Experience with Metabase or similar BI tools for analytics and reporting Solid understanding of database normalization partitioning and replication Experience integrating PostgreSQL with web applications and APIs preferably Python NET or Node js Strong understanding of JSONB CTEs and advanced PostgreSQL features Knowledge of database security roles privileges and backup recovery strategies Exposure to cloud-based databases AWS RDS Azure PostgreSQL or GCP Cloud SQL is a plus Excellent communication analytical and problem-solving skills
