This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1000000 - Rs 2000000 (ie INR 10-20 LPA) Min Experience: 5 years Location: Gurugram JobType: full-time We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in IBM Cognos and TM1 to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that support business intelligence and financial planning processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for integrating complex datasets, optimizing data models, and enabling efficient reporting and analytics across business functions. This role requires hands-on expertise in building and maintaining TM1 cubes, Cognos reports, and ensuring data accuracy and performance for enterprise-scale deployments. Requirements Key Responsibilities Data Architecture & Modeling - Design and implement scalable data models and ETL processes aligned with business reporting and analytics needs. - Develop and maintain TM1 cubes, dimensions, hierarchies, and rules to support financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting requirements. - Ensure seamless integration between Cognos BI and TM1 environments for efficient data visualization and reporting. - Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability. Development & Implementation - Build, configure, and deploy Cognos Framework Manager models, reports, dashboards, and analysis tools. - Design and automate TM1 processes (TurboIntegrator scripts and chores) to streamline data refreshes and calculations. - Collaborate with finance, IT, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions using TM1 and Cognos. - Implement best practices for data governance, metadata management, and change control. Data Integration & Maintenance - Develop and maintain data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) routines from multiple data sources (ERP, CRM, flat files, APIs). - Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring data accuracy and process efficiency. - Conduct regular validation, reconciliation, and tuning of TM1 cubes and Cognos reports. - Maintain documentation for technical configurations, data flows, and system processes. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management - Partner with business stakeholders to understand analytical and reporting needs, providing actionable insights through Cognos reports and TM1 models. - Work closely with IT infrastructure teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of BI platforms. - Train end-users and analysts on Cognos and TM1 capabilities, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization. Required Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field. - 5–12 years of relevant experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or financial systems development. - Strong hands-on experience in IBM Cognos BI (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Analysis Studio) and IBM Planning Analytics (TM1). - Expertise in TM1 Rules, TurboIntegrator processes, feeders, and cube optimization techniques. - Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2). - Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Shell, or VBA) for data automation and integration. - Knowledge of ETL tools, data warehousing concepts, and performance tuning methodologies. - Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Cognos Analytics 11.x and Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW). - Exposure to cloud-based BI platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). - Understanding of finance and budgeting processes to support FP&A teams. - IBM Cognos or TM1 certification is a plus.
