**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Technical Infrastructure Architect to join the IT Architecture team. You will work within the existing Architecture practice on the multi-year project portfolio, supporting in the definition and creation of technical architecture artefacts.

As a Technical Infrastructure Architect, you will:

- Create high-level design documents derived from business requirements of a solution vision to support projects
- Assist in the creation of Initial and Final solution architecture documents
- Review / Approve partner organisation documentation against corporate and architectural standards
- Provide technical infrastructure expertise to various governance forums, projects and focus groups
- Work with NFUM project stakeholders to ensure that Infrastructure Architecture requirements are effectively incorporated into project solutions and deliveries
- Work closely with other TA teams building technical and working relationships
- Maintain, develop, and store the roadmaps and designs of NFUM’s IT infrastructure Landscape
- Focus on supporting the SA function in the development of solutions and recommended platforms
- Provide technical guidance to the EA team on recommended and emerging infrastructure technologies
- Provide governance and assurance of standards adherence
- Create KDDs, Standards and Patterns for new technology.
- Review/ Approve partner designs, decisions, and quotations against requirements and HLDs.
- Present HLDs, KDDs, Standards & Patterns to various governance forums.

**About you**

We are seeking an individual with the following:

- Experience of playing a key role within an IT delivery function
- Working knowledge of all Architectural domains
- Infrastructure Domain experience including
- Working within infrastructure related projects and service provision
- Data centre infrastructure
- Interfacing on-premise and Cloud infrastructure technologies
- Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (Nutanix desirable)
- Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure
- Citrix
- Backup and Recovery technologies
- Firewalls
- Storage systems
- Working knowledge of:

- Networking and connectivity solutions
- Wider IT market issues
- Architectural standards and methodologies e.g. TOGAF
- Architectural design patterns
- Good working knowledge of change lifecycle skills:

- Analysis & Requirements management
- Functional Decomposition
- Risk identification and mitigation
- Excellent presentation & influencing skills
- Experience of working to tight deadlines
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable focus working on projects at home and in the office
- Capable of working independently but good team skills.
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent, at grade C or above, to include Maths and English Language
- MCSE 2008 or greater
- Cloud certification (Azure preferred)
- TOGAF 9 Foundation (desirable)
- ITIL Practitioner
