Duties & Responsibilities
***
**Process Documents - Drafting & review, negotiation & finalization of agreements, especially strategic business contracts with clients, service providers, consultants, landlords, foreign employees (including key employees).**
***
**Provide Legal Advice - Using oral or written platforms, you are expected to brief team of staff members on legal issues, potential liabilities, and possible courses of actions. This involves translating complicated legal jargon into language which everyone can understand, as well as taking all possible legal problems into consideration before making any recommendations.**
***
**Perform Research - Since laws and regulations are always changing and being modified, it’s up to the Legal Officer to continuously research legal resources such as articles, codes, statutes, judicial decisions and more. Doing so will allow the Legal Officer to stay up to date on all current laws and make well-educated legal recommendations.**

**Identify Risks - Ideally, legal issues should be nipped in the bud before they even begin. Identification of legal, regulatory, and other critical risks in the business & other contracts**
**Litigation - Handling litigation, arbitration, out-of-court settlements, and conciliation with different parties - customers, vendors, resellers, employees etc.**
**Compliance management**
**Compliance with data protection/privacy laws (GDPR and similar laws), employment laws, labor code, Information Technology Act etc.**
**Analysis of laws and providing legal opinions on different matters.**
**Updation of laws applicable to the company and providing an update to the management.**

**Compliance monitoring & management.**

**Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces.**
***
**Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.**

Requirements and skills

**IT industry experience will be an added advantage.**

**Excellent knowledge and understanding of IT acts and corporate law and procedures.**

**Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation.**
***
**Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.**
***
**High degree of professional ethics and integrity.**

**Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information.**
