**Job Title: Stewardess**
**Job Summary**:
Stewardess are responsible for ensuring the satisfaction of restaurant guests by providing attentive service, taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and orderly dining environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Customer Service**: Greet customers warmly, seat them at their tables, and provide menus. Offer recommendations and answer questions about menu items and specials. Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure that all special requests are communicated to the kitchen staff.
- **Order Management**: Input orders into the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately and promptly. Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure that orders are prepared and served in a timely manner. Verify that orders are complete and accurate before delivering them to customers.
- **Food and Beverage Service**: Serve food and beverages to customers according to established service standards. Ensure that plates and glasses are properly garnished and presented. Monitor tables and promptly refill drinks, clear empty plates, and address any additional needs or requests from customers.
- **Payment Processing**: Present bills to customers and process payments accurately. Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment securely and in accordance with restaurant policies. Thank customers for their patronage and invite them to return.
- **Table Maintenance**: Monitor the cleanliness and appearance of tables, chairs, and dining areas. Clear and clean tables between courses and after customers leave. Reset tables with clean utensils, napkins, and condiments for the next guests.
- **Teamwork**: Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure efficient operation of the restaurant. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate service and address any issues or concerns that arise during the shift.
- **Upselling and Promotion**: Recommend additional items, such as appetizers, desserts, or specialty drinks, to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Promote daily specials, seasonal offerings, and promotional events to customers.
- **Compliance**: Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times. Follow proper food handling procedures and ensure that all equipment and utensils are clean and in good working condition. Comply with all relevant regulations and policies, including those related to alcohol service and customer interactions.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent memory and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and willingness to provide exceptional service to customers.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic math skills for processing payments and making changes.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including ingredients and preparation methods, is beneficial.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS certification) may be required by some employers.
