UAV Design Engineer

UAV Design Engineer
is responsible for developing and designing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with a focus on aerodynamics, structural integrity, and system integration. They work on conceptualizing innovative UAV models, optimizing designs, and ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards. This role requires expertise in engineering principles, CAD software, and UAV technologies.
ResponsibilitiesWork on calculations and theoretical values required for UAV Design.Make 3D models & 2D drafts of UAV air frame and components.Acquire inputs from other disciplinary teams for the UAV design.Perform computational analysis for Aerodynamic & structural properties of UAV.Perform computational analysis for the designed components, reducing weight, and cost of manufacturing and increasing resilience of the components designed.Work with manufacturing vendors for manufacturing the designed components.Maintain industrial & defense grade standards in design and manufacturing.Integrate various components like motors, sensors, flight controllers, and communication systems into a cohesive and functional UAV system. This involves ensuring compatibility, optimizing performance, and addressing potential challenges.Prepare SOP documentation for manufacturing and assembly procedures for UAV.Plan manufacturing methods and materials to be used for the prototypes.Analyze and develop the UAV design based on the prototype performance.Plan prototype testing goals with respect to air-frame design development.
QualificationBachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. Advanced degrees in related fields are a plus.Expertise in CAD tools like SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD for UAV design and simulation.Strong understanding of aerodynamics, propulsion systems, and structural engineering related to UAVs.Hands-on experience with UAV platforms, components, and integration processes.Familiarity with UAV regulations, safety standards, and certifications like FAA or DGCA guidelines.Immediate Joiner Preferred.Excellent communication in English is mandatory.
