Position OverviewThe Assistant General Manager, Seafarer Recruitment oversees the organization’s needs for recruitment of seafarers and drive recruitment initiatives and strategies.

Key Responsibilities & AccountabilitiesInstitute compliance system and practices to monitor adherence to regulations and define crew recruitment strategies, policies and proceduresMonitor performance of team members for compliance with vessel related statutory requirements, Oil majors, regulatory, Wallem, Union and Clients’ requirementsPlan recruitment in the region of resources, identify new and efficient sources of manpower and promote engagement strategies to improve crew selection and processingReview manpower forecasting and engage with senior management, crewing operations and other internal stakeholders to identify anticipated employment needs for seafarers and oversee manning agents’ performanceSupport brand propagation in regional crewing markets and identify public crewing portals for selection of seafarersManage recruitment teams assigned budget for business unit's operation, marketing and recruitment drivesEvaluate business challenges, align quality control of seafarers and formulate strategies to improve candidate selection processContribute to define Crewing Strategies basis key trends and best practices of crewing marketDetect new and emerging risk areas and formulate pro-active steps to address themIdentify first trip attrition of seafarers and improve quality control and alignment of seafarers with specific vessel needs, assess the manpower situation and develop planParticipate in succession planning and building team strengthMotivate, mentor and engage with team members to drive performance and commitment to business objectivesIdentify performance gaps of team members and provide support to mitigate them and delivery of Recruitment KPIsProvide directions, goals and targets to ensure achievement of organizational vision, mission, goals and objectivesSupport global recruitment and cadet/trainee, junior officers and engineers and oversees their career progression

Qualifications & CompetenciesDegree in Maritime Management or equivalentSeafaring experience as Deck officer/Engineer officer onboard Bulk carriers/Container ships/Car Carriers/TankersAt least 10 years’ experience in Crewing of Dry vessel fleets or TankersGood command of written and spoken EnglishStrong interpersonal skills, capable of interacting professionally and courteously at all levels with various stakeholders and ship staffOpen minded and flexible in prioritization of tasks and willing to learn new tasks
