Senior Backend EngineerLocation: India - RemoteType: Full-timeWe are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer on behalf of a fast-growing SaaS startup that is building intelligent inventory and forecasting systems for modern e-commerce businesses.As one of the first backend hires, you will work closely with the CTO to design, scale, and optimize a high-performance, data-intensive platform already used by hundreds of merchants. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership, technical depth, and product impact.Responsibilities- Architect, design, and implement scalable backend systems and APIs handling millions of data points- Improve reliability, observability, and performance across distributed systems- Collaborate with product and data teams to deliver new features end-to-end- Contribute to infrastructure improvements, CI/CD, and cloud deployments- Adopt AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development and maintain qualityRequirements- 4+ years of professional experience building production-grade software in startups or tech product environments- Strong proficiency in Python (experience with FastAPI preferred)- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and database performance optimization- Experience with GCP or other major cloud platforms- Pragmatic approach to engineering, balancing speed and scalability- Strong communication skills and comfort working in small, distributed teamsPreferred Qualifications- Experience with ETL/data pipelines (Airflow, Dagster, or Airbyte)- Familiarity with ClickHouse or other analytical databases- Knowledge of event-driven architectures- Background in e-commerce, inventory, or supply chain domains- Experience scaling systems from startup to growth stage- Exposure to AI/ML engineeringTech StackPython, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, QuestDB, ClickHouse, GCP, Docker, Next.jsWhat’s Offered- Competitive compensation package (₹20-50 LPA basis experience)- Opportunity to build and scale core systems from the ground up- Direct collaboration with founding engineers and product leadership- Flexible, remote-first culture with hybrid options in Paris and LondonTo Apply:Please send your CV or GitHub profile with the subject line “Senior Backend Engineer Application – (Your Name)” to
