Summary

BluOcean is a dynamic technology company focused on building innovative, large-scale SaaS products. We are seeking a Lead Engineer to play a critical role in designing, architecting, and developing innovative SaaS applications on Microsoft Power App Platform, ensuring they meet the highest standards for performance, scalability, and security.

As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the engineering efforts to build robust SaaS products, utilizing your expertise in product engineering, design, and full software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes. Your role will involve creating high-impact, data-driven SaaS products, implementing best practices in design and development, and leading a team of engineers to ensure timely product releases.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of SaaS products, focusing on quality, performance, and scalability.- Collaborate with product managers across US and India to understand requirements and deliver high-quality, data-driven SaaS applications on Microsoft Power App Platform.- Develop and manage full-stack applications, including frontend UI development, backend services, cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure / Amazon AWS), and database management.- Implement API microservices, ensuring they are robust, efficient, and scalable.- Containerize applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and similar technologies for both on-premises and cloud-based (Microsoft Azure / Amazon AWS) environments.- Ensure SDLC best practices, focusing on CI/CD, and SaaS deployment.- Drive feature development through test-driven development, code reviews, and automated testing frameworks.- Maintain elevated levels of software security and implement secure development practices throughout the product lifecycle.- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues and offer solutions for software enhancements and new features.- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and improvement within the team.- Collaborate closely with cross teams to ensure timely releases of high-quality products.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor’s (B. Tech / B.E.) or Master’s (M. Tech / M.S.) degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on product development for SaaS applications on Microsoft Azure / SharePoint.- 3+ years of prior experience in application development on Microsoft Power Apps, with proficiency in Canvas Apps, Model-Driven Apps, and Power Automate.- Expertise in designing and developing SaaS products on Microsoft Azure / Amazon AWS including knowledge of design patterns and architectural principles.- Expertise in modern programming languages (React, Python, Node.js etc.) and frameworks for both frontend and backend development.- Expertise on microservices architecture, API development, and cloud platforms.- Expertise on database management, data models and multi-tenant architecture.- Expertise on CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and configuration management.- Expertise on dockerization and container orchestration technologies.- Experience with SDLC methodologies like Agile or Scrum, focusing on iterative development, release cycles, and deployment.- Knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles to enhance application usability.- Solid understanding of cyber security and best practices.- Proven ability to manage a team, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.- Ability to establish best practices for written communication and promote the use of templates and tools to maintain high-quality deliverables.- Strong listening and questioning skills, with the ability to manage challenging situations and influence decision-making.- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.- Collaborative mindset, actively involving others to leverage strengths and address development needs.

Preferred Skills

- Relevant certifications (such as Microsoft Certified: Power Apps Developer Associate or Power Platform Developer Associate).- Experience with Power Apps and other Microsoft services (e.g., SharePoint, Dynamics 365).- Experience with full-stack development (including UI, Backend, API, Database) with integrations and container orchestrator on SaaS platforms (Microsoft Azure / Amazon AWS).- Experience with SaaS delivery models - CI/CD and on-premises and cloud hosted deployments.- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and related implementations and integrations.- Knowledge of data-driven technologies and managing data-driven product development.- Basic knowledge of cyber security, cyber risk management, compliance standards, regulatory frameworks, etc.
