Job Summary:The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Frontend Developer specializing in HTML and CSS to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing visual elements that users see and interact with in various e-governance applications under the Digital India initiative. This role involves close collaboration with UX designers and backend developers to create responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web interfaces that enhance the citizen experience with government digital services.

Key Responsibilities:

Web Development:Develop and maintain user interfaces (UIs) using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript using UX designs.Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.Implement responsive designs to ensure compatibility across various devices and browsers.

Collaboration:Work closely with UX designers to translate design mockups and wireframes into functional web pages.Collaborate with backend developers to integrate frontend components with server-side logic.

Code Quality and Standards:Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following industry best practices.Perform code reviews and contribute to the improvement of coding standards and guidelines.

Testing and Debugging:Conduct thorough testing of web applications to identify and fix bugs or performance issues.Use debugging tools and techniques to enhance application performance and user experience.

Continuous Improvement:Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in frontend development.Propose and implement enhancements to improve the usability and functionality of existing applications.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in frontend development.Strong proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3.Experience with JavaScript and familiarity with frontend frameworks is a plus.

Certifications:Relevant certifications in web development or frontend technologies are advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

Technical Proficiency:Excellent understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.Familiarity with CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS.Knowledge of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., jQuery) is beneficial.Understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that applications adhere to them.

Design Sensibility:Ability to convert design mockups into pixel-perfect web pages.Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator is a plus.

Responsive Design:Experience in building responsive and mobile-first web applications.Knowledge of frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation.

Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Ability to identify and fix frontend-related issues efficiently.

Communication and Collaboration:Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members.Ability to understand and implement project requirements accurately.

Understanding of E-Governance:Familiarity with the Digital India initiative and e-governance frameworks is desirable.Awareness of accessibility standards and practices to ensure inclusive user experiences.
