Responsibilities
  • Create detailed structural drawings for mechanical systems, including equipment layouts, piping arrangements, and support structures
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand project requirements and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards during the drafting process
  • Review and revise drawings based on feedback and project changes
  • Coordinate with other draftsmen and project team members to resolve design issues
  • Maintain and update drawing files and databases
  • Assist in the development and implementation of drafting standards and procedures
  • Support project managers in the preparation of project estimates, schedules, and deliverables

Requirements

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting software
  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards, such as ASME and ANSI
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Draughtsman, preferably in a mechanical engineering or construction environment
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks or Revit, is a plus
