Job Overview: 

We are seeking a creative, experienced, and detail-oriented Game Director to lead and 

oversee the gaming content for our esports broadcasts. The Game Director will be 

responsible for ensuring the smooth and engaging production of live gameplay, managing 

game-related content during broadcasts, and collaborating with other key production and 

broadcast team members. This role will require someone with both a deep gaming 

knowledge and a strong understanding of broadcast production. 


Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead Game Production: Direct and oversee gameplay during live broadcasts, 

ensuring smooth execution of gameplay and integration into broadcast content. 

• Coordinate with Broadcast Team: Work closely with producers, camera 

operators, editors, and sound engineers to ensure seamless production. 

• Content Strategy: Develop and execute strategies for showcasing esports events, 

including planning gameplay sequences, highlight moments, and special features. 

• Game Direction: Guide gameplay direction during live events, including ensuring a 

focus on key moments, strategies, and narrative elements for audience 

engagement. 

• Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Quickly identify and resolve technical or 

gameplay issues during live broadcasts to maintain a high-quality viewer 

experience. 

• Talent Collaboration: Work with commentators, analysts, and hosts to ensure they 

are aligned with the game flow and production schedule. 

• Real-time Decision Making: Make critical decisions on live broadcasts to optimize 

the pacing and excitement of the event. 

• Post-Event Evaluation: Review footage and game data to provide insights and 

improvements for future broadcasts. 


Qualifications: 

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a game direction or esports production role, with 

hands-on experience managing live broadcasts.  

• Gaming Knowledge: A deep understanding of esports and competitive gaming, 

including familiarity with game mechanics, strategies, and audience engagement. 

• Technical Skills: Knowledge of broadcast technology, including live streaming 

platforms, production software, and gaming hardware. 

• Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a production team 

under pressure during live events. 

• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills with 

both internal teams and external stakeholders. 

• Problem Solving: Ability to think quickly and resolve issues in a fast-paced, high

pressure environment. 

• Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and 

holidays, depending on the broadcast schedule. 


Preferred Skills: 

• Degree: A degree in Media Production, Game Design, or a related field is preferred 

but not required. 

• Esports Experience: Experience in managing or directing broadcasts of esports 

events, tournaments, or similar gaming live-streaming activities. 

• Technical Expertise: Familiarity with game broadcasting tools like OBS and other 

production systems. 

• Creative Vision: Ability to bring a creative and innovative approach to live event 

direction, with a strong sense of storytelling. 

• Working Environment: The role will involve a mix of office and on-site production 

environments, including live event locations or studio settings. 

• Expect occasional travel for on-location events and tournaments.
