Role Description

As the founding systems engineer, you will be pivotal in designing and implementing security agents for multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux, and Kubernetes. This role allows you to leverage a first-principles approach to innovate CI/CD-specific security solutions from scratch. This is a high-impact role, as you would be working on cutting-work on cutting-edge CI/CD security solutions to advance the CI/CD security industry. You will have ownership and creative freedom to shape the platform.


We are looking for a hands-on systems engineer to build security agents for various operating systems and Kubernetes. You will own existing implementations of Harden-Runner and extend it to support Windows and Mac.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize security agents using programming languages such as Golang, C, C#, etc.
  • Design Harden-Runner security agent for Windows and Mac.
  • Architect efficient solutions using effective tech stack and system primitives.
  • Maintain Harden-Runner agent for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Kubernetes.
  • Monitor telemetry from existing agents and improve reliability and performance as required.
  • Maintain a high-quality bar for Harden-Runner security agent.
  • Build software release processes and systems to ship in rapid iteration while maintaining quality requirements.
  • Keep up with industry trends and extend Harden-Runner capabilities as required.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience building operating system/Kubernetes services, agents, low level services, or system drivers.
  • String understanding of Windows, Mac, Linux, and/or Kubernetes.
  • Experience writing highly resilient, performant, and reliable code.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in a startup or high-impact, outcome-driven environment preferred.
  • Driven, self-motivated, and creative-thinker always on the lookout for ways to improve or enhance current state.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with security or performance agents
  • eBPF experience
