Key roles and responsibilities Inspections and compliance: Regularly inspect all university premises like hostels, canteens, labs, and common areas to ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and sanitation standards. Hygiene and sanitation monitoring: Supervise cleaning staff, monitor waste disposal, check for vector control (e.G., mosquito breeding), and ensure the proper maintenance of sanitary facilities. Health surveillance: Report any outbreaks of infectious diseases to the university and public health authorities and help implement preventive measures. Quality control: Test water quality, inspect food handling and preparation in canteens, and ensure that other food and health-related services meet required standards. Complaint resolution: Investigate complaints from students, Faculty, and staff regarding unsanitary conditions or health-related issues. Education and awareness: Educate students and staff on best hygiene practices, disease prevention, and other public health topics. Record keeping: Maintain detailed records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions taken. Corrective action: Prepare reports and make recommendations for corrective actions to address any violations or poor sanitary conditions found during inspections. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: A bachelor's degree is a minimum, with a master's degree in public health (MPH) being highly beneficial for professional roles. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in health programs, research, or policy development is often required. Technical skills: A strong understanding of biostatistics, and health systems management is essential.
