The Risk Management Team at BDO India is a dedicated and skilled group of professionals responsible for safeguarding the organization against various risks associated with its operations, client engagements, and industry dynamics. The team ensures that the firm adheres to regulatory standards while strategically managing risks to achieve business objectives.
The primary responsibility of the Risk Management Team is to conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats to the firm's reputation, financial stability, and operational efficiency.
The Risk Management Team works collaboratively with various departments including audit, taxation, advisory, outsource accounting, legal, compliance, and other different business units to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to risk management. By fostering a culture of collaboration, the team contributes to the firm's overall success and resilience in a dynamic business environment.
Job Profile
As a Risk Management Team Member at BDO India, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks across the organization. This position requires a combination of strong analytical skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to implement and monitor risk management strategies.

Position-
Manager/Associate Director, Risk Management Team
QualificationMaster’s degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related fieldAdditional degree such as Company Secretary would be added advantage.Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), preferable.
ExperienceCandidate should have relevant experience of 7 to 8 years in risk management or business analysis and consultingExperience within a large accounting or consulting firm is required.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential risks associated with the firm's clients, client engagements, operations, and projects.Collaborate with different business units to gather information and insights for comprehensive risk evaluation especially regarding on-boarding clients and taking on difference types of client engagements.Develop risk models and frameworks to quantify and prioritize identified risks, ensure implementation, and follow through on risk mitigation strategies adopted.Required to stay current on industry regulations and standards relevant to the accounting, auditing, and consulting industry.Ensure that the firm's policies and practices align with regulatory requirements and proactively address any compliance issues.Work closely with legal and compliance teams to interpret and implement regulatory changes.Advise on the design and implementation of controls to mitigate identified risks. Develop / Modify / Digitize / automate the risk assessment related process and requirements and work closely on this with Firm’s Digital Team.Establish monitoring mechanisms to track the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures.Prepare regular reports on key risk indicators and present findings to senior management.Provide timely updates on emerging risks and potential impact on the firm's operations.Conduct training sessions to increase awareness of risk management practices among employees.Foster a risk-aware culture by promoting best practices and encouraging proactive risk identification at all levels of the organization.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in risk management processes and methodologies.Conduct periodic risk and quality reviews for completed engagements as per the firm’s Risk Management guidelines and specific Quality Management process andReport on discrepancies identified in risk and quality review conducted.Required to report to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of the Firm
SkillsStrong analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)Have the ability to work under pressure under stringent deadlines.Strong problem-solving, and decision-making skills.In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and standards and constant need to stay updated on the sameThorough understanding of policies (including global firm policies) and best practices of risk management.
