Senior Automation Engineer

This role is specifically for an Senior Automation Engineer with a strong focus on WiFi Automation . The ideal candidate should have a robust background in automation, software testing, and development, with specific expertise in WiFi products, network protocols, and the CI/CD process.
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the automation strategy, approach, and execution for NETGEAR enterprise WiFi products.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise for our automation efforts and take it to the next level.
- Take ownership of automation HW and SW infrastructure, scaling it up to reduce the amount of manual testing efforts significantly.
- Build processes from the ground up, coordinate between cross-functional teams, and work in a fast-paced environment with rapid automation of the existing and new test cases.
- Be a creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years in Software Testing and 5 years in Automation and Development.
- Extensive experience in ATDD (Acceptance Test-Driven Development) and TDD (Test-Driven Development) on WiFi access points or WiFi products.
- Deep expertise in working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Buddy, CruiseControl, and GoCD, with a strong understanding of the CI/CD process.
- Proficiency in automation with Python for GUI/API/CLI interfaces of embedded systems.
- Expertise in Automation Framework Development (ROBOT Framework) and Selenium.
- Experience in software development, coding tools, GitHub, Jira, etc.
- Frontend experience (HTML/CSS/JS) is a plus.
- Knowledge of network protocols like TCP/IP, FTP, DHCP, routing/switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, STP, VLAN), campus networking, and WiFi is a significant advantage.
- Experience with various test tools like traffic generators (IX Chariot, iperf, Veriwave, Spirent) and protocol analyzers (Wireshark, tcpdump, Ethereal).
- Awareness of AI tools usage in automation is a big plus.
