Job Opening: Sr. Equity Research Analyst (VP/AVP)Location:Ahmedabad, GujaratExperience Required:9–15 YearsDepartment:Research & InvestmentsType:Full-Time | Internal Leadership RoleAbout the RoleMarutinandan Capital Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly experienced professional tolead the Research & Investments Department . This senior leadership role focuses exclusively onin-house research and internal portfolio management —with no client-facing responsibilities. The role involves driving research excellence, managing the internal research team, and overseeing the company’s investment portfolio to achieve long-term value creation.Key Responsibilities:Research & AnalysisConduct in-depth fundamental and capital market analysis of Indian listed companies across sectors.Review and interpret financial statements, annual reports, investor presentations, and regulatory filings.Carry out field investigations and market investigations to validate company data and industry assumptions.Build, update, and maintain financial models (DCF, comparable multiples, scenario analysis, etc.).Prepare detailed investment research reports with actionable insights and recommendations.Track industry trends, macroeconomic factors, geopolitical developments, and emerging technologies (including AI) and their impact on markets and investments.Leadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and manage the research team, ensuring structured processes and analytical rigor.Set departmental goals, review research output, and establish best practices.Provide guidance on methodology, modeling, and reporting standards.Encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the team.Internal Portfolio Management & StrategyOversee Marutinandan Capital’sinvestment portfolio —monitoring performance, risk exposure, and allocations.Work with senior management to define and refine the company’s long-term investment strategy.Present portfolio reviews, risk assessments, and research-based recommendations to management.Ensure alignment between research insights and internal portfolio positioning.Drive diversification, return optimization, and robust risk management frameworks for the company’s own capital.Organizational LeadershipHead theResearch & Investments Department .Represent the department in internal strategy discussions and decision-making forums.Ensure proper documentation, governance, and compliance of all research and investment activities.Continuously enhance research processes, tools, and reporting standards.Required Qualifications (any one):Master’s in EconomicsPh.D. in EconomicsChartered Accountant (CA)Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA – Completed)MBA in Finance from a reputed instituteExperience Required:9 to 15 years of progressive experience in equity research and investments.Proven expertise in analyzing Indian listed companies across sectors.Demonstrated ability to prepare investment reports and present recommendations at a senior level.Prior experience inleading teams and managing research departmentsis essential.Exposure toportfolio management and strategic investment oversightis strongly preferred.Key Skills:Deep expertise in financial statement analysis, valuation methodologies, and investment modeling.Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases/tools.Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing abilities.Proven leadership, mentoring, and people management skills.Integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
